What do you think of this name for a girl in a book?
Hey guys, I’m writing a book, and the protagonist and narrator is a 12 year old girl. She’s very unique, and has a different way of looking at the world- a bit like leslie in "bridge to terabithia", and she’s also a christian. What do you think of this name for her?
Requiem Marjorie Faith (Faith is her surname)
Her nickname is Quinn
Anyway if you could give an opinion and if its negative, then an alternate suggestion?

I have to agree with previous posters – Faith is just way too obvious of a surname for a christian protagonist, sorry! Looking through a phone book is a great idea, or even identifying your character’s heritage and looking up relevant last names.
http://surnames.behindthename.com/ – that is a great site where you can search by meaning or surname. You could perhaps find a surname meaning ‘faith’ or implying a religious status.
Another option to incorporate her faith into her name would be to give her the first name of Faith, or Evangeline (nickname ‘Evie’) or something similar??
To me, the character seems like she’d have a rather off-beat, whimsical sounding name. These are some that come to mind…

Requiem was a male vampire from the Anita Blake series. I didn’t like the name then either.
You could do any variation of Jacuelyn. I’m not sure if Quinn is an average nickname for it though.

Faith is a bit of a heavy metaphor for a Christian, a bit like having a butcher called Mr. Meat! How about surname as Quinn and her nickname as Faith?
