How can i contact the dead through my dreams?
Alright so I want to contact my dead father. He’s been gone for a while now and has contacted me through my dreams a couple of times he was always happy looking and I’ve only really remembered he said i love you(I don’t really ever remember him speaking in any of my dreams except for the i love you). The last time i dreamed about him we were driving to drop off my godfather at some Chinese restaurant place and my god father was like are you hungry and we nodded and then i really just remembered my dad smiling and that’s it dream was over. I really really want him to tell me how he died the truth if someone did it,he did it,or it was just an accident like they said. And i don’t really have control of my dreams so i cant ask, Its really rare when i have a dream with him in it but please i need to do this its been bugging me and i have to know the truth!
you is crazy

Nobody really knows the power of dreams. Science will tell you it’s impossible. Existentialists will shrug and say it may be possible. So nobody can really tell you how to accomplish it, because nobody knows. There is such a thing called "lucid dreaming" you can Google it. People have claimed to accomplish it – and maybe so – but it’s difficult.

When you have those dreams, you are not actually contacting him. You are just missing him. Of course you are going to imagine him telling you he loves you, because your father did. The reason you cannot control your dream is because you are not having a lucid dream. A lucid dream is when you are dreaming, and you know it. When you have a lucid dream, you can control all your actions, and say what you want, except it usually doesn’t last long. The chances of you having a lucid dream with your father in it is a 1/1000000 chance. It’s nearly impossible for you to choose a dream you want to have. All sleep is, is an unconscious state of mind. All that happens when you dream, is that your brain is still somewhat active, and you must have thought of something while you were asleep, so your mind creates pictures in your head. The reason these pictures seem so real is because your mind isn’t distracted on anything else, such as what your hearing, seeing, feeling, etc. So the simple answer is, you can’t. Sorry.

dreams are basically things that happened through out the day or week that your mind is trying to sort out. so think about your dad the whole day, and youll dream about him at night.

You’ve been watching "The Sixth Sense," haven’t you? While I won’t rule out supernatural connections entirely, as when I was 8 I had a dream about football (unusual for me) just as my grandfather (a football player) died of a stroke, they’re not some sort of supernatural telegraph; you can’t count on making such a connection.
What dreams are good for is for tapping into your subconscious. If you want to dream about your father (for which I wouldn’t blame you), try to think about him a lot and stare at his photographs just before going to sleep. This might give you a dream in which you imagine what he would say if he really were there. However, logically speaking, the problem with doing so is that it makes it harder to establish whether a dream of your father is really a Message From Beyond or just the result of your own actions.
A more certain approach is to take measures to ensure you remember what you dream. Keep a notebook by your bedside to write them down. Talk with other family members about your dreams while you can still remember them. Look elsewhere on this site to find out how to retain memories of your dreams more clearly.

Okay, here’s the truth:
The branch of psychology that deals with dream interpretation is, in a word, crap. Freud based a lot of his work on this, and it was still crap. It’s free-flying theories with nothing consistent or duplicatable upon which to apply the scientific method. In short, it’s complete quackery.
Second, you can’t contact your father, period. Even when and if you are conscious. When you die, your soul goes to heaven or hell. There’s no "hanging around". I know you’re disappointed and you miss him. But there’s never any final comfort in a lie. And trying to contact the dead is dangerous whether it’s a loved one or not. Demons impersonate dead loved ones in order to lower your guard, all as a part of a strategy of leading you away from the truth.
Why not try praying this?
Lord Jesus, I’m a sinner. I ask you to be my Lord and saviour. I believe you died for my sins and God raised you from the dead. I want to taste and see that you are good. I miss my Dad. Please help me not to miss him so much and hurt so much over his loss. Thank you for my memories, both while awake and in my dreams. But if these dreams are deceptive or harmful, please take them away. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
What have you got to lose?
I send love and blessings to you in Jesus’ name.
